I've just received word that a Dear Aunty of our community passed away yesterday afternoon following a fight with cancer. A story that has become too familiar in this day and age.
Mary was a dancer with a cloak of long black hair. I was completely in awe of her beauty when I was a little girl. I cried hard when I first found out that she had cancer, because it affected her ability to walk, let alone dance. It seemed a cruel punishment for a Generous soul. I am relieved to hear that she has finally traveled on, Free to move without the bondage of sickness.
Tonight there will be a dance in her honour. A Celebration of a Kind and Beautiful Being.
I will miss her Eyes.
In my short time here on Earth, I've experienced the transitioning of many elders. I am thankful for the awareness of impermanence, each one has left with me.
Today is the day. Tomorrow remains to be known.
