I am sitting back in my home, feeling so absolutely content in life.
I am trying to acknowledge the times that are made up of simple joys, so I'll start here.
My beloved walking through the door, hands full of fresh farmers market goodies. Roses. A bouquet of colour rounded out by their sweet perfume (he knows my heart). Friends, from different areas of my life. Heart to hearts on the building blocks of life, and laughter over hip hop parody's. The grass, and garage sales. Brunch on open decks with rose.sleepy time, honeyed iced tea. Water infused with cucumbers and ginger honeysuckles. Lounging. Chocolate chip cookies, taro leaves exploding from my fruit bowl. Kisses, hugs and high fives. Coffee, mate and tuberose, all good smells. Most importantly, the knowing that it just doesn't get better than the given Moment. < Cherish it >
Below are a few clips from yesterday. I love that every time I get just a little bored here on Maui, something like this hike comes along and proves that I just haven't been everywhere on this lil island. It's refreshing.
This hike was unlike any I'd ever done before. For starters it isn't open to the public, so I honestly had no idea it existed. Secondly I saw the biggest waterfall yet, because we hiked up a mountain, which is rare in itself, leaving me sweating at the bottom (we were on the West side) and freezing in the whipping wind near the top, wishing for hot chocolate. But, what really set this hike apart from any other, for me at least, was that the entirety of it was done on a boardwalk aka stair master. Yesterday it felt almost like cheating, covering so much space in just a few hours aided by a man made walk way, not having to bush whack through dense foliage. Today, my body, and I'm talking my entire body feels like it was lifted up and thrown repeatedly against a wall, making me understand that there is no cheating in climbing up a mountain. My arms (random), stomach, back and LEGS are so sore, leaving my boyfriend in suppressed laughter every time I hobble around like an old woman.
On the plus side we have pineapple now :)
PS. Devin you are so awesome. Thanks again for a great day!
